Product Description

Molding is the process of manufacturing by shaping liquid and pliable raw material using a rigid frame called a mold or matrix. Panels are manufactured in an open, heated mold, by interweaving continuous, thoroughly wetted, fiberglass rovings with liquid resins.
GRP Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic Grating
• Liquid resin and continuous glass rovings are systematically layered in the mold, manually, to desired dimensions and thickness.
• Finished molds are then allowed to harden, which is known as curing.
• Once curing is complete, the panel is ejected from the mold.
• Secondary applications, such as post applied grit, can now be bonded to the concave top surface.

Interwoven, one piece construction, produces a product that has bi-directional strength and optimal corrosion resistance, with no mechanical joints between bearing bars, distributing loads throughout the panel section and around cut-outs.


The choice of resin depends on the application of the product. We offers a wide variety of standardized resins, rated and/or based on chemical resistance. All resins are fire retardant and meet minimum ASTM E84 Flame Spread, Class 1 rating of 25 or less. To compliment your design project, Solucent offers options in a variety of colors. Custom color options may be available upon request.

Vinyl ester (TYPE V) - Withstands frequent and direct contact in extreme chemical environments. Ideal for use in caustic and acidic environments such as chemical plants, waste water treatment and plating applications.

Food grade Isophthalic polyester (TYPE F) - Ideal for environments in the food and beverage industry, where grating may frequently be wet or exposed to harsh cleaning products.

Industrial grade Isophthalic polyester (TYPE I) - An industrial strength resin great for environments where grating may occasionally be in contact with harsh chemicals due to splashes or spills.

Premium Ortho polyester (TYPE O) - Commonly used in general corrosion environment, weak alkali corrosion and atmospheric aging environment.
